L A Y E R I N G 🌦 💦 💨 Is it cold, hot, sweaty, clammy, well I just don’t know!!!! The weather has definitely switched true England stylie, which means… drumroll please, it’s time for some layering! Here are some of my fave cover ups… 1) The shacket: a great light-weight easy piece to throw on with jeans and a tee, over a maxi or midi dress or even belted over some cropped trousers… khaki, camo, denim, twill cotton or a heavier wool check will be your go-to for this A/W. 2) The knit: lightweight jumpers or cardigans you can layer with a big collared shirt, t-shirt or just alone. Look for cotton or cashmere mix fabrics to prevent becoming a sweaty mess 😂 3) The Mac: lightweight jackets in tonal colours such as khaki, stone, rust and camel that you can wear with, well, pretty much EVERYTHING… 4) The Denim Jacket: so many varieties in different fabrics shapes and styles! Try a range of lengths and fits that work best for your wardrobe… Typically a slightly fitted waistline denim jacket in a mid blue will work on most shapes : ) 5) The Blazer: slightly more refined but great to dress an outfit up or down! Fitted, oversize, printed or plain, the blazer is here to stay and will elevate any look. 6) The Parka: a little heavier in weight but let’s be honest, Practicality at its best. Lots of options with zip liners so you can wear in warmer or colder climates. Go for darker tones to get ultimate wear. 7) The Duster: long line and chic, the duster jacket is a great piece to wear with jeans. Opt for wool or luxe fabrics and experiment with print and colour to make a statement. 8) The blanket coat: a real investment piece for A/W. Kinda like a poncho but more refined, these come in traditional checks and tonal shades. Alpaca or wool is a luxury worth investing in… Transitional cover ups are must have wardrobe staples – especially when you can justify the cost per wear. For those asking about my camo jacket, it’s an old H&M men’s one but I’ve added a few current ones over on my stories 😘 Check em out…

T H E K I M O N O 👘 This pregnancy has definitely had its ups and downs, but doesn’t everything! One thing I am sure of is getting dressed in a nice outfit definitely helps to make me feel better! Granted, I have to actually leave the house to warrant getting dressed – even to paint my face… I haven’t bought lots of new pieces this time round, because of lockdown most days I am in my pjs 😳 However, I do so love this old kimono from River Island and every time I wear it (no matter what shape or size!) I always receive a compliment or two… I keep seeing lovely pictures of people wearing leather trousers, cosy knits and chunky ankle boots I am longing to wear, but alas, A/W pieces will have to wait. Transitional dressing here I come! Loose layering, denim, macs, mid-weight fabrics and slip on shoes are what I’m comfortable with right now! So bring on those kimonos…. I’ve included some on my stories as you can wear these all year round… Hope you enjoy!!! 🥰
