9 killed, 27 injured in J&K road accident

Jammu, Sep 14 (IANS) Nine people were killed and 27 others harmed on Wednesday in a street mishap in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch region.

Police sources said that a minibus left the driver’s control close to Brari Ballah in the Sawjian area of Poonch locale.

“The minibus folded down into a chasm. Nine people were killed in this mishap while 27 others were harmed.

“Armed force salvage groups helped by police and regular citizens moved the harmed to sub-locale emergency clinic in Mandi town.

“Going to specialists said the state of 11 harmed travelers is basic,” police sources said.

J&K Lt. Lead representative, Manoj Sinha has declared Rs 5 lakh ex gratia pay to the closest relative of the people who lost their lives in the mishap.

Sinha said on his authority Twitter page, “Disheartened by loss of lives because of a street mishap in Sawjian, Poonch. Sympathies to deprived families.

“May the harmed recuperate soon. Rs. 5 lakh would be given to the closest relative of expired. Guided Police and Civil specialists to give most ideal treatment to the harmed”.
