Sue Graham Mingus was an American record maker and band chief. She was the widow of jazz writer and bassist Charles Mingus. In 1979, after her better half’s demise, she laid out groups to play out his music, starting with the Mingus Line and performing routinely in New York.

Sue Mingus’ Initial Life Susan Graham was born on April 2, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her dad, Louis Graham, was a mechanical specialist turned designer. Her mom was a harpist and musician who had likewise tried to be a catholic pious devotee.

Sue Mingus’ Profession Soon after Charles’ passing, Sue framed the Mingus Tradition to play out his work; not long after came the Mingus Big Band and Mingus Ensemble.
