Official Andres Vasquez-Rope, 32, was shot a few times as he pursued an outfitted suspect around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block of South Spaulding Road, across the road from Sawyer Grade School. The one who called 911 let the specialists know that the ruthless shooting happened before many children playing.
As per witnesses, the shots being discharged threatened the honest kids, who began rushing behind slides and whatever else they could find for cover. The one who detailed the occurrence to 911 said her 10-year-old sister was playing with different children when they saw the suspect, recognized by police as 18-year-old Steven Montano, threaten to use a firearm on Vasquez-Tether.
“I feel frustrated about the deficiency of the cop’s family and his associates and companions,” the lady said, asking not to be named out of worry for her wellbeing.
“Yet, I’m happy they were there to guard my sister and her companions.” Vasquez-Tether was to be sure a legend as, regardless of his injuries, he had the option to return fire and shoot Montano in the head, as per police. Montano was accounted for in basic condition at Stroger Emergency clinic.

On the next day, Montano was accused of first-degree murder, disturbed release of a gun close to a school, as well as crime counts of basic attack and obstructing detailing aggressive behavior at home. Official Vasquez Tether was taken to Mount Sinai Clinical Center, where he was articulated dead.
Many officials accumulated at the clinic to offer their appreciation and sympathies to the fallen official. The parade took the late official’s body to the Cook Province funeral home on the West Side.
A lady, Maria Dávila, was watching a film in her home while the shooting occurred. Dávila, 44, said she thought it was firecrackers from the outset when she heard a noisy commotion.
She went to the window and saw Montano in a parking garage close to the jungle gym, holding his chest and yelling, and another man, Vasquez-Tether, lying nearer to the jungle gym and not moving. Montano hollered, “shoot me shoot me” at a subsequent official remaining among him and Vasquez-Tether.
The children taking cover behind the slides and boards observed all of this event for somewhere around 20 minutes.
