Steve started as a worker colleague on the FAU training staff in 2015 and was elevated to collaborator mentor in 2016. In his eight years with the group, he has driven the Sandy Owls to six winning seasons, a NCAA Tournament triumph, and a No. 8 public rating.
The Sandy Owls are falling off their most memorable season to date, with a school record of 23 triumphs and their most memorable billet in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship.
Grotowski, the competition’s acting lead trainer, directed the No. 8-cultivated Owls to a 3-0 first-round win over 10th cultivated Stanford. It was the program’s very first NCAA Tournament triumph.
The Sandy Owls arrived at the Elite 8 and closed the 2022 season positioned eighth in both the AVCA and CVBV public rankings. Grotowski was named AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, the principal public training honor won by a FAU ocean side volleyball trainer.
