Seoul, Sep 27 (IANS) During her excursion to South Korea this week, US VP Kamala Harris will visit the Neutral territory (DMZ) that isolated the two Koreas, State head Han Duck-soo reported on Tuesday.
Han offered the comments during a gathering with Harris in Tokyo before they went to the state burial service of late Japanese Head of the state Shinzo Abe, reports Yonhap News Organization.
Han said the arranged visit by Harris to the DMZ on Thursday is a “representative” move for the South Korea-US coalition.
Harris’ visit to the DMZ comes under two months after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi went there.
It likewise comes after North Korea sent off a short-range long range rocket Sunday, in a clear demonstration of power against joint military drills among Seoul and Washington.
Harris said the partners have “a ton of work” to do to fortify their relations, remembering their venture for development, innovation and space.
As per the Head of the state’s office, Han and Harris talked about the worldwide extensive key collusion, which was concurred by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his US partner Joe Biden in May.
