Man drowns in high-altitude lake in Himachal, search operation on

Shimla, Sep 12 (IANS) Rescuers on Monday started a hunt activity to recuperate the body of a man from Kullu who had suffocated in the chilly taken care of Chandertal or ‘Moon Lake’ in Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti Valley, authorities said.
The man, Pawan Kumar, apparently suffocated in the Chandertal Lake on Sunday night.

He was swimming in the lake, however taking a plunge in the high-elevation lake is restricted.

Jumpers from Sundernagar were extraordinarily called to recuperate the body, an authority told IANS.

The Chandertal Lake – – a bow formed bowl encompassed by the Himalayas – – is situated at a rise of 14,100 ft.


The lake is available just throughout the mid year, as it stays frozen in winter.
