Thousands of cows on Gujarat highways block traffic as govt fails to fund shelter homes

Palanpur, Sep 23 (IANS) Traffic on the North Gujarat roadways came to end on Friday after more than 200 Panjrapole (cow cover homes) legal administrators delivered great many cows in challenge the express government’s inability to allow Rs 500 crore monetary help for running the haven homes.

Banaskantha Panjrapoles legal administrator Kishor Dave let the media know that since the most recent 15 days, the legal administrators are dissenting and requesting monetary help as guaranteed in the state spending plan for the year 2022-23.

As their rehashed requests failed to receive any notice, the legal administrators on Thursday delivered great many cows on the state and public thruways other than government premises in North Gujarat.

There are 1,500 panjrapole in the state giving asylum to around 4.5 lakh cows, alone in Banaskantha, 170 panjrapole cover 80,000 cows. Panjrapole trust need to bear Rs 60 to 70 for every steers each day to take care of them.

Post Coronavirus, gifts to Panjrapole have evaporated, and without reserves it is becoming challenging to run cover homes. In the event that the public authority doesn’t deliver assets at the earliest, the disturbance will take a forceful turn.
