Recently commissioned to write a poem that would exist as a public artwork at Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross. The piece is entitled “The Wrench”, and was named as such partly on account of having seen the location whilst it was still a building site, but also in reference to the shape of the concrete poem. It explores ideas around self-determination, individuality and the potential that lies in community and cooperation, riffing heavily on the poetic stylings of Gertrude Stein and EE Cummings, with a subtle homage to “The Race” hitmaker and enfant terrible Tay-K, for it’s exploration of that which could be said to unite the human race as one (Everybody’s Got One ! It’s Self Made)
