In the 2017 World Baseball Exemplary, Espada drove the Puerto Rican group again as mentor. Espada turned into the seat mentor for the Houston Astros following the 2017 season.

Following the 2018 season, he led interviews for administrative situations with the Texas Officers and the Chicago Whelps in 2019.

Espada won the Worldwide championship in 2022 after the Astros conquered the Philadelphia Phillies in the postseason.
