Most of us have heard or intuitively know that out of great pain can come tremendous growth, but this idea that the “realization” that begets regret itself is something to be grateful for feels more novel (to me anyway). Hussey suggests staying in regret “erases the realization,” the aha moment (what I like to call a yogapiphany) in essence putting us back to where we began before we had this newfound knowing. Instead he encourages feeling gratitude for the gift in it all .. the pain, the suffering AND the realization before the regret. He says, “You’ve already paid the price. Now get what you paid for, the change.” . I like this idea. This reminder. Don’t let regret erase the realization. . Thanks #MattHussey for your generosity of spirit. And thank you to my students.
