Hearing about how it moved, inspired and changed people in the circle tonight was amazing, and I know it is true because I saw it- I watched that happen over the course of the last 3 months. I also know it because it did that for me too, even though I was leading it. These skills, these practices, these life ways, are so potent, so important, so deep. Huge gratitude to all of my students, it wouldn’t have been a gathering without you. From people who didn’t used to feel comfortable being in the woods by themselves but now seek it out, to people who faint at the sight of blood but are now excited to make head cheese and blood pudding, the change is big and palpable. I never used to post much on social media, and spent as little time at a computer as I could manage. In the last year I have thrown myself into the world arena much more than ever before in my life, because I felt like the world needed the skills I teach and the inspiration to dive deeper into ancestral skills and nature connection. There are times when I find it exhausting and unsustainably draining and just want my old life back. And then someone writes me a note or a comments on one of my videos about what a difference I am making to their children, to their daughters, and how much they appreciate what I am role modeling.
